Terrace Wedding Ceremony overlooking the city

Autumn in Lisbon can feel like summer. Abundance of tones and impressions: blue sky, red pomegranates, hot Iberian sun, refreshing Atlantic breeze are a perfect combination for a joyful Wedding Day. I was lucky to be a Wedding Photographer of a unique Intimate Ceremony at one of the coolest Lapa's terraces.

Lucie & Julien - a beautiful young couple who moved to Portugal some time ago invited me to photograph their Special Day. The couple planned the event literally in a couple of days. It was very last minute but turned out stuningly beautiful.  They visited the gallery of LX Lapa and fell in love with the space. It's an art gallery and concept design store of XX century furniture and modern art, located in a little palace, full of vintage style and charm. Red rooftops and Tagus river view are a perfect background for celebrations of love. Everything looked like a dream.

Bride and groom had bought some pieces of clothing on their baby moon in Spain. Lucie got her hat in a little store in Sevilla, It’s a typical hat for horse riding. She was wearing a dress from Reformation and her heels were from Paris Texas. She wanted to look like a bride but unique and a little groovy. Julien was wearing a suit that they also bought in Sevilla, his grandfather's watch he received in 1944 for his 15th birthday was one more very special detail. The bouquet and table setting was done by a very talented friend of the bride - creator of Floral Zone. Everything was gorgeous - artistic vibe, true happiness and a feeling of real appreciation of the present moment. The closest family and friends managed to fly to Lisbon last minute and participate in the celebrations. You could feel their joy all the way.

This is a story of how a spontaneous plan can turn into something extraordinary. I feel this intimate ceremony can be a source of inspiration for many other couples. You don't always need months of preparation to create unforgettable moments of celebration. Open mind and creativity can do magic.
